What the Committee actually voted on

The CalPERS Investment Committee oversees the investment of the largest public pension fund in the United States. Across the ten years collected here — 68 meeting agendas — the Committee took action on 88 items. Each one is highlighted below by category: asset allocation and investment policy revisions, divestment questions, legislation, corporate governance, service-provider contracting, and a small number of direct investment transaction decisions.

Most of these items relate to the administration of the investment program of the Public Employees’ Retirement Fund. What you will not find is the focus on strategy, risks, and conflicts of interest that you would see in a mutual fund summary prospectus. Nine of the 88 action items were decided in closed session — for those, no public transcript of the discussion exists.

How to use this site. The agendas scroll on the left; each colored highlight marks an action item the Committee voted on. Click a highlighted item to open its agenda materials, or click the red [Transcript] beside it to read the certified record of that discussion in a pop-up, opened to the exact spot. The key on the right lists every category — click any one to see all of its items across the decade, each with its own materials and transcript links; you can collapse the key with the − button to free up space. Use the search bar to find anything by date, agenda item number, category, or phrase — it shows how many matches there are (e.g. “2 of 3”) and the ▲ / ▼ arrows step through them one at a time. The year buttons jump straight to any year from 2016 to 2026. Pop-ups dim the page behind them; close one with its × button, by clicking outside it, or by pressing Esc.
