What the Committee actually voted on

The CalPERS Investment Committee oversees the investment of the largest public pension fund in the United States. Across the ten years collected here — 68 meeting agendas — the Committee took action on 88 items. Each one is highlighted below by category: asset allocation and investment policy revisions, divestment questions, legislation, corporate governance, service-provider contracting, and a small number of direct investment transaction decisions.

Most of these items relate to the administration of the investment program of the Public Employees’ Retirement Fund. What you will not find is the focus on strategy, risks, and conflicts of interest that you would see in a mutual fund summary prospectus. Nine of the 88 action items were decided in closed session — for those, no public transcript of the discussion exists.

How to use this site: scroll the agendas below — every highlighted item opens its agenda materials, and the bracketed tag at the right margin opens the portion of the meeting transcript where that item was discussed and voted on. Or click a category in the key to see every item of that type across all meetings.
